Kindergarten
Phonics----The Kindergarten students will continue their study of the sound that the letter "Ff" makes----keyword----fish. The students will learn that the letter "Ff" is a consonant letter. Then, the students will learn the sound that the letter "Rr" makes----keyword----rabbit. The students will learn that the letter "Rr" is a consonant letter.
Reading----The Kindergarten students will continue to read the "Sight Words". The students will also read "Ff" words. The "Ff" words to be read are: fog, fat, fin, film, fist, flat, fill, flip, lift, off, soft, flag, if, fast, lift, flop, loft and sift. Then, the students will read "Rr" words. The "Rr" words to be read are: rip, ram, rag, rot, rat, rap, ran, trip, trap, trim, raft, ramp, grass, gram, grip, trot, raft and frog. The students will read the booklet----"Frog Ran".
Handwriting----The Kindergarten students will print the letters "Ff" and "Rr". The students will also print phonics words and sentences.
Math----The Kindergarten students will learn to "Identify and Write the Numbers 13, 14, 15 and 16" and "Number Patterns".
Religion----The Kindergarten students will learn about "Christmas" and that "God Cares For Families".
Centers----The Kindergarten students will do "Play Dough Letters" and "Play Dough Words".
First Grade
Phonics----The First Grade students will study the sounds of "ar" as in star and ""wh"and "qu".
Reading----The First Grade students will read the stories----"Did You See Chip?" and "Tomas Rivera". The booklet "Carmen Sells Stars" will also be read.
English----The First Grade students will learn about "Nouns and Verbs" and "Pronouns and Verbs".
Spelling----The First Grade students will continue their study of words that have a "th" or "wh" sound in them. The Spelling words are: that, with, which, path, when, this, them, bath, whip, then, think and wheel. The Special Writing words are: where, what and who. Then, the students will begin to study words with a "long Aa" sound. The spelling words are: came, make, brave, bake, take, name, late, gave, shape, game, parade and erase. The Special Writing words are: out, about and over.
Math----The First Grade students will study the numbers "One Less, One More", "Before, Between, After", "Compare Numbers", "Order Numbers" and "Even and Odd Numbers".
Religion----The First Grade students will learn about "Christmas" and "The Holy Spirit".
Centers----The First Grade students will do "Play Dough Words", "Addition Wheels", "Word Wheels" and "Flash Cards and Slide Word Cards".
Science----The students will learn about "Day and Night".
Social Studies----The students will learn about "Our Continent" and "Earth".
