What's Happening This Week----December 16th Through December 20th

Kindergarten

Phonics----The Kindergarten students will continue their study of the sound that the letter "Ff" makes---keyword----fish.  The students will learn that the letter "Ff" is a consonant letter.  Then, the Kindergarten students will learn the sound that the letter "Rr" makes----keyword----rabbit.  The students will learn that the letter "Rr" is a consonant letter.

Reading----I will listen to each Kindergarten read the booklet----"Stan's Pigs".  The students will read "Ff" words----fan, fin, film, fat, fist flat, flip, fog, lift, off, soft, flag, if, fill, fast and lift.  The students will continue to read the "Sight Words"----color, name, I, go, and, my, the, see, an, not, at, one, two, three, to, too, Jesus, God, baby, Mary, as, has, Stan and stop.  The "Rr" words to be read will be----rip, ram, rag, rat, rot, rap, ran, trip, trim, trap, raft, ramp, grass, gram, trot, grip and frog.  The students will also read phonics sentences.

Handwriting----The Kindergarten students will print the letters "Ff" and "Rr".  Phonics word sentences and "Sight Words" will also be printed.

Math----The Kindergarten students will "Compare Numbers", "Identify and Write Numbers 13 and 14" and  "Number Patterns".

Religion----The Kindergarten students will learn about "Christmas".

Centers----The Kindergarten students will do "Play Dough Letters", "Play Dough Words", "Flash Cards " and the "Scribble Board" for review.

First Grade

Phonics----The First Grade  students will study the "ar", "wh", "th" and "qu" sounds.

Reading----The First Grade students will read the story----"Did You See Chip?".  The students will also read the booklet----"Carmen Sells Stars".

English----The First Grade students will continue their study of "Verbs".

Spelling----The First Grade students will learn Spelling Words that have a "th" or "wh" in them.

Math----The First Grade students will learn about "One Less, One More", "Identify Numbers Before, Between and After", "Compare Numbers" and "Order Numbers".

Centers----The First Grade students will do "Play Dough Words" "Addition Wheels", "Word Wheels" and "Flash Cards".

Religion----The First Grade students will learn about "Christmas".

Science----The students will learn about the "Night Sky".  The the students will learn about the "Earth' s Resources".

Crafts----The crafts will center around the "Christmas" theme
