What's Happening This Week----December 9th Through December 13th

Kindergarten

Phonics----The Kindergarten students will continue their study of the sound that the letter "Ss" makes----keyword----sun.  Then, the students will learn the sound that the letter "Ff" makes----keyword----fish.  The students will learn that the letter "Ss" and "Ff" are consonant letters.

Reading----The Kindergarten students will read Phonics Word lists and Sight Words.  The students will also read words that contain the letters "Ss" and "Ff".  The students will read the booklet----"Stan's Pigs".

Handwriting----The Kindergarten students will print the letters "Ss" and "Ff".  The students will also print phonics word sentences.

Math----The Kindergarten students will learn how to "Equalize Sets", "Compare Numbers", "Identify and Write Numbers 13 and 14" and "Number Patterns".  Addition problems will continue to be done.

Religion----The Kindergarten students will learn about "The Journey to Bethlehem" and "Advent".  The students will also learn that "We Learn About God With Our Families".

First Grade

Phonics----The First Grade students will be reviewing the "ch" and "tch" and "ar" sounds.

Reading----The First Grade students will read the stories----"I Am a Butterfly" and "Did You See Chip?".  The booklet----"Baby Chicks Hatch"----will also be read.

Spelling----The First Grade students will be reviewing past units of their spelling words.

English----The First Grade students will learn about "Verbs" and "Noun and Verbs". 

Math----The First Grade students will "Count Nickels" "Review Counting by 5's", "Count by 2's", learn about "One Less and One More" and "Identify Numbers That Are Before, Between and After".  Rocket Math will continue to be done.

Religion----The First Grade students will continue to learn about "Advent".  Then, the students will learn about "The First Church Members", "The Holy Spirit Helps the Church Today" and "The Church Serves".

Science----The students will learn about the "Day Sky" and the "Night Sky" and "Earth's Resources".

Crafts----The crafts will center around "Christmas".
