What's Happening This Week----October 28th Through November 1st

Kindergarten

Phonics----The Kindergarten students will continue their study of the sound that the letter "Aa: makes----keyword----apple.  Then, the students will learn the sound that the letter "Nn" makes----keyword----nest.  The students will learn that the letter "Nn" is a consonant letter.

Reading----The Kindergarten students will read the following Sight Words:  the, color, is, name, and, my, go, a, see, I, one, at, on and not.  The following phonics words will be read:  nap, pan, ant, hat, tan and nag.  The students will also read the booklet----" I See My ".

Handwriting----The Kindergarten students will print the letters "Aa" and "Nn".  Phonics word sentences and Sight Words will also be printed.

Math----The Kindergarten students will learn about the terms----" As Many As ", " More " and " Fewer ".

Religion----The Kindergarten students will learn that " God Made All People ".

Centers----The Kindergarten students will do "Play Dough Letters", "Play Dough Words", "Number Puzzles" and the "Scribble Board" for review.

First Grade

Phonics----The First Grade students will continue their study of the sounds of "ch", "sh", "wh", "th", "ar", "ng" and "ing".  Then, the students will learn the sound of "or", in words----such as----fork, corn, more, store and Mort.

Reading----The First Grade students will read the story----"Where Do Frogs Come From?".  The booklet----"Frank From Moss Pond"-----will also be read.

English----The First Grade students will continue their study of "Special Nouns".  Then, the students will learn about "Naming Yourself Last" and "Pronouns".

Spelling----The First Grade students will continue their study of words that contain the "dr", "gr" and "tr" sound.  Then, the students will learn words that contain the "cl", "fl" and "sl" sound.  The Spelling are:  flap, club, flag, slip, clap, sled and flower.  The Special Writing Words are:  said, her, and here.

Math----The First Grade students will learn about the "Tens and Ones Place". "Rocket Math" , adding one digit and two digit numbers will also be done.

Religion---- The First Grade students will learn that "Jesus Died and Rose to a New Life". 

Centers----The First Grade students will do "Play Dough Words", "Number Wheels", "Word Wheels" and the "Scribble Board" for review.

Science----The students will continue their study of "Animals"----how animals move and what they need to live.

Social Studies----The students will learn about "Our Country" and "Using Pictures----Maps".
