Our Kindergarten/ First Grade Field Trip is tomorrow, Tuesday, October 1st.
Kindergarten
Phonics----The Kindergarten students will learn the sound that the letter "Pp" makes----keyword----pig. The students will learn that the letter "Pp" is a consonant letter.
Reading----The Kindergarten students will read the Sight Words----color, the, is and you. The following Phonics Words will be read----pot, top tot, hot, lot, got log and hog.
Handwriting----The Kindergarten students will print their first name, Phonics Words and Phonics Word sentences. and the letters "Tt" and "Pp".
Math----The Kindergarten students will review the "Triangle" shape, "Identify and Write 6 and 7", "Left, Between and Right" and "As Many As". The students will also learn about the #8.
Religion----The Kindergarten students will learn about "The Church Year" and "Ordinary Time".
Centers----The Kindergarten students will be making "Play Dough" Letters, making flash cards and using the "Scribble Boards".
First Grade
Reading----The First Grade students will read the stories---"Dan's Pet" and "Boots For Beth". The booklet----"Fix-It Fox" will be read.
English----The First Grade will start a unit on "Nouns".
Spelling----The First Grade students will review the "Short Vowel" sound in words. This week's spelling words are: him, hot, man, men, top and cut.
Math----The First Grade students will learn about "Number-Line Addition", and "Sums 9 and 10". Rocket Math worksheets will continue to be done.
Religion----The First Grade students will learn about "The Church Year" and "Ordinary Time and the Saints".
Centers----The First Grade students will do "Play Dough" words, 'Addition Fact Wheels" doing "Flash Cards With Partners" and using the "Scribble Boards".
Science----The students will continue their study of "Plants"----"What Plants Need" and "How Plants Grow and Change" and "Homes For Living Things".
Social Studies----The students will learn about-----"Transportation----Then and Now".
