What's Happening This Week----September 10th Through September 14th

Kindergarten

Phonics----The Kindergarten students will continue their study of the sound that the letter "Gg" makes----keyword----goat.  Then, the students will learn the sound that the letter "Hh" makes----keyword----hat.

Reading----The Kindergarten students will be reading color words and the words ----log and hog.

Handwriting----The Kindergarten students will be printing the letters "Gg" and "Hh".  The students will also be printing the words----log and hog.  The students will continue to learn the correct way to hold a pencil and how to print their name to sit on a line.

Math----The Kindergarten students will learn the number "5" , review numbers 0-5, shapes---circle, square and rectangle, the colors green and purple and color patterns..

Religion----The Kindergarten students will be learning that "God Gives Us Land".

First Grade

Phonics----The First Grade students will learn about the "Suffix ""s", "Blends" and the sound that "ck" makes in a word-----such as in the words----Jack and Rick.

Reading----The First Grade students will be reading the stories "Jack and Rick" and "Todd's Box".  The students will also be reading the booklet----"Mack and Sam".

English----The First Grade students will be learning about "Telling Sentences and Question Sentences".

Spelling----The First Grade students will be learning the short vowel sound for the letter "Ii".  This week's spelling words will be the "it" word family words.  This week's spelling words are: it, bit, fit, hit, kit, pit, sit, lit and knit.

Religion----The First Grade students will be learning that "Jesus Worked Among People".

Science----The students will learn about "Different Plants" and the "Parts of a Plant----Fruit, Flower and Seeds".

Social Studies----The students will learn about "Our World" and "American Symbols-----the Bald Eagle".
