What's Happening This Week-----April 9th Through April 13th

Kindergarten

Phonics----The Kindergarten students will learn the  sound that the letter "Dd" makes-----keyword-----dog.  The students will learn that the letter "Dd" is a consonant letter. 

Reading----The Kindergarten students will read "Dd" words.  The "Dd" words to be read will be:  dog, doll, disk, sad, desk, drum, had, slid, hid, mud, red, rid, stand, sand and and.  The Sight Words to be read will be:  you, into. one, ten, help, said, did and four. The students will be reading the booklets----"Zac the Rat" and "Ben is Ten".

Handwriting----The Kindergarten students will print the letter "Dd" and phonics word sentences.

Math----The Kindergarten students will begin a unit on "Money".

Religion----The Kindergarten students will that "We Celebrate Jesus' Gift of Himself".

Science----The Kindergarten students will learn about "Changing How Things Move" and Magnets".  Then, the students will begin a unit on "Matter".

First Grade

Reading----The First Grade students will be reading the story-----"On the Job With Dr. Martha Smith".

Spelling----The First Grade students will be doing a review unit of past learned spelling words.  Then, the students will learn spelling words that "Add 's' " to the end of the spelling word.  The "Add 's' " spelling words are:  jet, jets, frog, frogs, tail, tails, week, weeks, gate and gates.  The Challenge Words are:  wagon and wagons.  The Special Words are:  mother, father and more.

English----The First Grade students will be reviewing-----adjectives, sentence parts----the naming part and the action part, telling sentences and end marks, nouns and pronouns,  Then, the students will learn about "Writing Correct Sentences" and "Exclamations".

Math-----The First Grade students will learn about "Subtracting Two-Digit" Numbers".  Then, the students will learn about "Regrouping Tens and Ones".

Phonics----The First Grade students will be doing phonics worksheets.
