On Friday, April 6th, the Kindergarten/ First Grade Classroom will go on their classroom field trip.
Kindergarten
Phonics----The Kindergarten students will continue their study of the sound that the letter "Yy" makes----keyword----yarn. Then, the students will learn the sound that the letter "Dd" makes----keyword----dog.
Reading----The Kindergarten students will be reading "Yy" words and "Dd" words. The students will also be reading the phonics booklet----"Ben is Ten". The "Yy" words to be read will be: yam, yak, yell, yap, yen, yes, yet and yelp. The "Sight Words" to be read will be: you, four, into, one, can, ten, help, said, and, did, and had. The "Dd" words to be read will be: do, doll, disk, sad, desk, drum, had, slid, hid, mud, red, rid, stand and sand.
Handwriting----The Kindergarten students will be printing the letters "Yy"and "Dd".
Math----The Kindergarten students will their study of "Addition". Then, the students will begin their study of "Money".
Religion----In Chapter 27, the Kindergarten students will learn about "Easter".
Science----The Kindergarten students will learn about "Changing How Things Move" and "Magnets".
First Grade
Reading----The First Grade students will be reading the story----"My Robot". The students will also be reading the booklets----"My Family", "Surfer Girl" and "Car Race". Then, the students will read the story----"On the Job With Dr. Martha Smith".
Spelling----In Unit 29, the students will learn words that are "Long "I" Spelled by "y". The spelling words this week are: my, why, try, sky, shy, dry, fly, by cry and fry. The Challenge Words are: type and myself. The Special Words are: down, every and because.
English----The First Grade students will continue their study of "Opposites". Then, the students will review past concepts that have been studied.
Math----The First Grade students will learn about "Temperature" and "Adding Ones, Dimes and Tens".
Writing----The First Grade students will be writing a story about the "Three Seeds" and "The Beehive".
Social Studies----The students will learn about "Voting".
