What's Happening This Week----March 19th Through March 23rd

Kindergarten

Phonics----The Kindergarten students will continue their study of the sound that the letter "Cc" makes----keyword----cat.  The students will learn that the letter "Cc" is a consonant letter. Then,  the Kindergarten students will learn the sound that the letter "Ee" makes----keyword----elephant.  The students will learn that the letter "Ee" is a vowel letter.
Reading----The Kindergarten students will be reading word lists and the phonics booklet----"Ben is Ten".  Some of the "Ee" words the students will be reading are:  net, bell, leg, step, nest, mess, get, help, ten, tell, spell and rest.  The "Sight Words" to be read are:  into, four, but, one and from.
Handwriting----The Kindergarten students will be printing the letters "Cc" and "Ee".  The students will also be printing phonics word sentences.
Math----The Kindergarten students will continue their study of "Addition".
Religion----The Kindergarten students will learn ,  in their "Growing in Love" Religion Book, that "We Are Made Like Jesus" and "We Are Made to be Together".  The, the Kindergarten students will learn about "Safety" by having the "Virtus" lessons.
Science----The Kindergarten students will learn about "Where Things Are {Positions}".   Then, the Kindergarten students will learn about "How Things Move".

First Grade

Reading----The First Grade students will be reading the story-----"Tell Me a Story".
English----The First Grade students will continue their study of "Adjectives".
Spelling----The First Grade students will learn about "More Long "Ee" Words".  This week's spelling words are:  feel, eat, need, read, deep, sleep, neat, keep and feed.  The Challenge Words are:  peanut and please.  The Special Words are:  been , goes and never.
Writing----The First Grade students will be writing their own stories.
 and "One Fourth".
Math----The First Grade  students will learn about "One Half", "One Third" and "one Fourth".  The First Grade students will also learn about "Measuring {Inches }".

Social Studies----The students will learn about "Picture Graphs" and "Maps".
