What's Happening This Week----February 19th Through February 23rd

I appreciate  and want to thank everyone for all the nice gifts and cards that I have received for Christmas, Teacher Appreciation Day and Valentine's Day.  Each and every gift and card was so nice. Everyone is so kind and thoughtful. 

Kindergarten

Phonics----The Kindergarten students will continue their study of the sound that the letter "Bb" makes----keyword----balloon.  Then, the students will learn the sound that the letter "Uu" makes----keyword----umbrella.   The students will learn that the letter "Uu" is a vowel letter.
Reading----The Kindergarten students will read the phonics booklet----"The Big Trip".  The students will also be reading phonics words. The students will be reading "Bb" and "Uu" words.
Handwriting----The Kindergarten students will be printing the letters "Bb" and "Uu".  The students will also be printing phonics words.
Math----The Kindergarten students will learn about "Tally Marks, "Tally Charts" and "Picture Graphs".  The Students will also continue their printing of numbers.
Religion----The Kindergarten students will learn that "We Belong to the Church".
Science----The Kindergarten students will continue learning about "Weather" and "Seasons". The  students will also learn about "Measuring Weather".

First Grade

Phonics----The First Grade students will  continue learning about the long "Ee" sound---"ee" as in see, "ea" as in read and "e" as in we.
Reading----The First Grade students will be read the stories----"The Fox and the Stork" and "A Bed Full of Cats".  The booklets----"A Load of Stuff" and "Patch's Treat", will also be read.  A Long "Ee" booklet will be read.
English----The First Grade students will continue to learn about the "Verb and Subject Agreement" of the words----was and were.  Then, the students will learn about "Contractions".
Spelling----The First Grade students will continue to learn about ":Words With the Long "Ee" Sound".  Then, the students will be doing a review unit.
Math----The First Grade students will continue their study of "Subtraction".

Social Studies----The students will continue to learn about "George Washington",  Then, the students will learn about "Susan B. Anthony".

Story Time----Everyone is enjoying listening to stories from the "Bible".
