What's Happening This Week----December 4th Through December 8th

Kindergarten

Phonics----The Kindergarten students will learn the sound that the letter "Ii" makes----keyword----inch.  The students will learn that the letter :Ii" is a vowel letter.

Reading----The Kindergarten students will be reading the phonics booklet-----"Hop on the Mop".  The students will also be reading "Ii" words.  Some of the "Ii" words to be read will be:  pig, pin, lip, tip, hit, lit, it, in, tin, him, pit, till, ill and hip.
Handwriting----The Kindergarten students will be printing the letter "Ii" and phonics words.
Math----The Kindergarten students will learn about the terms "Fewer, Fewest and Most",  The students will also learn about a "Number Line" and :"Ordinals:  First to Tenth".
Religion----The Kindergarten students will learn about "Advent".
Science----The Kindergarten students will learn about how "Animals and Plants Live Together".

First Grade

Reading----The First Grade students will read the story "Fun With Fish" and the phonics booklet------"At the Fish Shop".
English----The First Grade students will be reviewing "Nouns, Special Nouns, Naming Yourself Last, Pronouns, Parts of a Sentence and What a sentence is".
Spelling----In Unit 17, the First Grade students will learn spelling words with the "ch" and "sh" sound.  This week's spelling words are: ship, chin, much, chop, wish and shop.  The Challenge Words is : shoe.Math----The First Grade students will continue their study of "Time".  The students will continue working on their "Rocket Math" worksheets.
Social Studies----The students will learn about "Goods and Services" and "Jobs That Help Others".
