What's Happening This Week----November 27th Through December 1st

Just a Reminder:
Sunday, December 3rd-----the Christmas Program after 10:00 Mass, in the gym.  Students should wear Sunday clothes or their school clothes.
Kindergarten
Phonics----
The Kindergarten students will continue their study of the sound that the letter "Mm" makes----keyword----monkey.  The students will learn that the letter "Mm" is a consonant letter.
Reading----The Kindergarten students will read phonics words that contain the sound of the letter "Mm".  The students will also be reading the phonics booklet----"Hop on the Mop".
Handwriting----The Kindergarten students will be printing the letter "Mm" and phonics words.
Math----The Kindergarten students will be counting objects and learning about the terms----"More", "Fewer" and "Fewest and Most".
Religion----The Kindergarten students will learn that "We Learn About God With Our Friends".
Science----The Kindergarten students will learn about "Homes For Animals"---animal habitats and "Animals and Plants Together" in the same habitat.

First Grade
Phonics----The First Grade students will be reviewing the sounds of "sh" and "ch".
Reading----The First Grade students will read the stories----"Try Your Best" and "Fun With Fish". The students will also be reading the booklets "Just One More" and "At the Fish Shop".
English----The First Grade students will learn about "Pronouns" and "Words That Mean the Same".
Spelling----In Unit 16, the First Grade students will learn words that "Double the Final Consonant".  This week's spelling words are:  will, egg, grass, tell, miss and well.  This week's Challenge Word is:  guess.
Math----The First Grade students will learn about "Time to the Half-Hour", "Patterns Using Time", "Elapsed Time", "Estimate Time" and "Order Events".
Social Studies----The First Grade students will learn about "Natural Resources" and being "A Good Helper".
