What's Happening This Week----April 25th Through April 29th

Kindergarten

Phonics----The Kindergarten students will be reviewing the sound that the letters "Ww" and "Qq" make----keywords----wagon and quilt.  Then, the students will learn about the "Long Vowel Sounds" and the "ck" sound----keyword---duck.

Reading----The students will be reading "Ww" words , "Long Vowel Words" and "ck" words.

Handwriting----The Kindergarten students will be printing the letter "Qq" and phonics word sentences.

Math----The Kindergarten students will continue their study of "Subtraction"


Religion----The Kindergarten students will continue their study in the Growing In Love Religion Book.  The students will learn that "God Made Us to Be Family"and "God Made Us to Grow in Love".

Science----The Kindergarten students will learn about "Magnets". This is the last unit in our Kindergarten Science book.

Social Studies----The Kindergarten students will learn about "Maps", "Address" and "Charts".


First Grade

Reading----The First Grade students will be reading the story "The Puddle" and "Poppleton Everyday".  The booklets----"The Bridge" and "Three Moles and a Mule"-----will also be read.

Writing----The First Grade students will be writing spelling word sentences.

English----The First Grade students will be reviewing "Verbs", "Contractions", "Proofreading", "Sentence Rules" and "Pronouns"

Spelling----The First Grade students will be doing their last spelling word unit in their spelling book.  Unit 36 will be reviewing past spelling words from units 31-35.  This week's spelling words are:  going, show, mailed, tail, inside, frogs, backpack, flying, road, wished, gates and eating.  This week's spelling word test will be on Friday, April 29th..
