The Kindergarten/Preschool Field Trip was a fun time for all. Thank you so much for all the parents and grandparents that helped make this field trip possible.
Kindergarten
Phonics----The Kindergarten students will continue their study of the sound that the letter "Vv" makes----keyword----vest. Then, the students will began their study of the sound that the letter "Jj" makes----keyword----jar.
Reading----The Kindergarten students will be reading "Vv" words and word lists. Some of the "Vv" words to be read will be: van, vet, vest and vent.
Handwriting----The Kindergarten students will be printing the letter "Vv".
Math----The Kindergarten students will be learning about the "Calendar" and doing "Addition Problems".
Religion----The Kindergarten students will learn that "Jesus is Always With Us". Then, the students will learn about "The Three Days"----the Last Supper (Holy Thursday), Good Friday and Easter Sunday.
Science----The Kindergarten students will learn about "Heating and Cooling Matter".
Crafts----The crafts this week will revolve around the "Easter Theme".
First Grade
Phonics----The First Grade students will learn about "ur" as in turtle, "c" makes an "s" sound when followed by an "e" and the "ow" sound as in bow.
Reading----The First Grade students will be reading the stories-----"Little Bear's Friend" and "The Busy Buzzy Bee". The booklet----"A Dream to Fly"---will be read.
Writing----The First Grade students will be writing their own story about the "Easter Bunny".
English----The First Grade students will be reviewing "Writing Correct Sentences", "Commas in Dates", "Commas in city and state names", "Special Nouns----titles in names", "Pronouns", "Book Titles" and "Adjectives".
Spelling----In Unit 31, the First Grade students will learn about words that "Add an "s" ". This week's spelling words are: jet, jets, frog, frogs, tail, tails, week, weeks, gate, gates, wagon and wagons. This week's "Special Words" are: mother, father and more. This week's spelling word test will be on Wednesday, March 23rd.
