What's Happening This Week-----March 14th Through March 18th

The Kindergarten Class will be going  on their field trip on Friday, March 18th. 

Kindergarten

Phonics----The Kindergarten students will be learning about the sound that the letter "Vv" makes----keyword----vest. 

Reading----The Kindergarten students will be reading the booklet----"I Did It".  The students will also be reading some "Vv" words.  Some of the "Vv" words that the students will be reading will be:  vet, van, vest and vent.

Handwriting----The Kindergarten students will be printing the letter "Vv" and some phonics words sentences.

Math----The Kindergarten students will continue learning about numbers ---1 to 31; doing addition problems and  learning about the "Calendar".
Religion----In Chapter 26, the Kindergarten students will be learning that "We Celebrate Jesus Our Friend".

Science----The Kindergarten students will learn about "Heating and Cooling Matter" .  Then, the students will learn about energy-----"Sound".

First Grade

Phonics----The First Grade students will be learning about the sound of "ch" as in cheese and doing several review lessons of past letter sounds.

Reading----The First Grade students will be reading "Little Bear's Friend" story and the booklet----"A Dream to Fly".

English----The First Grade students will be reviewing writing sentences correctly; commas in dates; capitalizing the names of months; titles in names; names of people; names of towns; pronouns; add "ed" to a verb to make it tell about the past; adjectives; and book titles.

Spelling----In Unit 30, the First Grade students will be reviewing past spelling words.  The spelling words this week are: smile, wake, hope, bit, bite, sail, stay, need, read, my and dry.   This week's spelling word test will be on Thursday, March 17th.
