What's Happening This Week----March 7th Through March 11th

The Kindergarten Students enjoyed Dr. Seuss' Birthday by dressing up like the "Cat in the Hat".  The Kindergarten students made a "Cat in the Hat" hat and bowtie.  The Kindergarten students enjoyed  several Dr. Seuss snacks----a vanilla cupcake topped with blue icing and a red gummy fish { to look like the blue ocean water with a red fish }, blue and red jello gigglers in the shape of fish and some blue juice { to look like ocean water } with a red gummy fish floating in the blue juice.  All these snacks were made to go along with the Dr. Seuss book----One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish.  The Kindergarten students also enjoyed doing a Dr. Seuss sticker scene.  A Dr. Seuss "at" word family words worksheet was done along with several Dr. Seuss math worksheets and coloring worksheets.  The Kindergarten students enjoyed listening the many Dr. Seuss stories----"The Cat in the Hat" "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish", "Green Eggs and Ham" and "Hop on Pop". The Kindergarten students' homework  assignment one night was to read several pages from the Dr. Seuss book----"Hop on Pop". I listened to each Kindergarten student read the pages from "Hop on Pop"----and everyone did such a great job of reading.  They all thought that the Dr. Seuss stories were funny and fun to read.

An Inside Peek of the Kindergarten/ First Grade Routine:

The hand sanitizer dispenser, right inside the Kindergarten classroom door, has helped the students cut down on illness this past cold and flu season, I believe.  Every student that comes into our classroom is requested to use the hand sanitizer.  Then, before going to lunch each one of the Kindergarten students wash their hands, at the classroom sink, with soap and water.  Another way to cut down on illness and the spreading of germs.  These  are all very great preventable measures taken to stop illness from spreading.
