What's Happening This Week----January 19th Through January 22nd

The Kindergarten, Pre-School and First Grade students had a  fun "Frozen" Day today.  Everyone enjoyed having their snacks while watching the Disney's movie "Frozen".  Then, at recess time, everyone enjoyed throwing snowballs {rolled-up white socks} around the gym.  Then, Freeze" Tag was played. 

Kindergarten

Phonics----The students will continue their study of the sound that the letter "Kk" makes----keyword----kite.  Then, the students will begin the study of the sound that the letter "Bb" makes----keyword----balloon.
Reading----The students will be reading the phonics booklet----""Frog Ran".  Phonics word lists will also be read.
Handwriting----The students will be printing the letter "Bb". 
Math----The students will continue learning about "Halves".  Then, the students will learn about "Fourths".  The numbers---- "17,18,19 and 20"----will be studied.
Writing----The students will be printing their first and last name, phonics words and phonics word sentences.
Religion----In Chapter 18, the students will learn that "Jesus Teaches and Helps Us".
Science----The students will be learning about the Earth's "Water" and "Natural Resources".


First Grade

Phonics----The students will be learning about----"Spelling with Final C", "Final Syllables---- "ble", "fle", "ple", "dle", "tle" and "gle".
Reading----The students will continue reading "The Fox and the Stork" and the booklet----"A Load of Stuff". Then, the story "A Bed Full of Cats"---- will be read.
English----The students will continue their study of "Adjectives".
Spelling----The students will learn "Long "o" Words".  This week's spelling words are:  go, home, rope, so, joke, bone, hole, no, stove and poke.  The Challenge Words are:  hello and alone. The Special Words are:  done, come and some.
