What's Happening the Week of March 2nd Through March 6th

Sorry, this news letter is late, this week.  My internet as been down at home.

Everyone looked so cute on "Cat in the Hat" Day!  The students enjoyed listening to many Dr. Seuss books-----"The Cat in the Hat", "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish Blue Fish"," Hop on Pop" and "Green Eggs and Ham".  The students made many "Cat in the Hat" Day projects-----a "Cat in the Hat" hat and bow tie, necklace, foam pom-pom hat, a craft stick "Cat in the Hat" and a paper plate "Cat in the Hat".  The students played "Pin a Flower to Horton's Trunk" Game. Everyone enjoyed a Dr. Seuss drink of blue Gatorade {ocean} with red and blue gummy fish. Dr.  Seuss looking cookies were eaten as a snack.

Phonics----The students will continue their study of the sound of the letter "Vv'----keyword---vest.  The students will learn that the letter "Vv" is a consonant.

Reading------The students will be reading word lists and the phonics booklet----"I Did It". The students will learn the sight word----have.  Some "Vv" words to be read will be:  vest, vet, have and van.

Writing----The students will be writing and illustrating their own sentences.

Handwriting----The students will be printing the letter "Vv".

Math----The students will continue learning about "Money"----pennies and nickels".

Religion----In Chapter 24, the students will learn that "We Celebrate Jesus ' Gift of Himself" at Mass.

Science----The students will be learning "How Things Move".
