What's Happening This Week----October 28th Through October 31st

It was wonderful seeing everyone for parent-teacher conferences.

Friday, October 31st will be our classroom Halloween Party and our Halloween Walk.  The students should bring their Halloween costume on Friday, October 31st and plan on changing into their Halloween costume at school, before the Halloween Party and the Halloween Walk.

Phonics----The students will continue their study of the sound that the letter "Nn" makes---keyword---nest.  Then, the students will learn about the sound that the letter "Mm" makes----keyword----monkey.

Reading----The students will be reading color words, word lists and phonics words.  The students will also be re-reading the phonics booklet----"Hot, Hot, Hot". Some of the phonics words that the students will be reading are: tan, pan, nag, mop, ham, mat, man, mom and map.  The extra words are: an, on, not, at and the.

Handwriting----The students will be printing the letters "Nn" and "Mm".  The students will also be printing phonics words and their first name.

Math---The students will be learning about the terms----"Fewest and Most" and "Equalizing Sets".  The students will also be "Identifying and Writing the Number 10".

Religion----In Chapter 12, the students will be learning that "We Learn About God With Our Friends".

Science----The students will be learning about how "Plants Grow and Change".

Social Studies----The students will be learning about "Then and Now".

Crafts----This week's crafts will center around the Halloween theme.  The students will be making a paper plate pumpkin, a paper plate witch, decorating a Halloween bag to use on the Halloween Walk at school, Halloween stickers, and Halloween color sheets.
