What's Happening This Week -----October 13th Through October 17th

Pioneer Day will be on Monday, October 13th.  This will be a day of learning about the pioneer people way of life----pioneer activities,  crafts, food, and games.  Learning and fun will be happening all day long, during this Social Studies Pioneer Day.

Phonics----The students will continue their study of the sound that the letter "Aa" makes---keyword---apple.  The students will learn that the letter "Aa" is a vowel.

Reading----The students will continue reading color words.  Some of the phonics words that the students will be reading are: hat, tap, pat, at and tag.

Handwriting----The students will be printing the letter "Aa".  The students will also be printing their first name and phonics words.

Math----The students will be learning about the number "9".  The students will be counting "9" objects, putting "9" objects on a ten-frame, and learning how to print the number "9".  The students will also continue their study of patterns.  Then, the students will learn about the term "As Many As".

Religion----In Chapter 10, the students will learn that "God Helps Us to Discover His World" by giving us our five senses.

Science----The students will be learning about the different parts of a plant.

Social Studies----The students will be spending all day on Monday, October 13th, about the "Pioneers".  Then, the students will be learning about "Christopher Columbus" and Earth's---"Land and Water".

Crafts----The students will be doing many Halloween sticker pages, painting pumpkins, making a pattern beaded necklace, and many more activities.
