Phonics----The students will continue learning about the sound that the letter "Ll" makes---keyword---lion. Then, the students will learn the sound that the letter "Oo" makes---keyword---octopus. The students will learn that the letter "Oo" is a vowel. The students will be doing many phonics worksheets and crafts---all centered around helping the students to remember the sounds that the letters "Ll" and "Oo" make.
Reading----The students will continue to learn and read color words---especially the color word---blue. The students are also learning to read number words.
Handwriting----The students will be printing the letters "Ll" and "Oo". The students will continue printing their first name. The students are learning the correct way to hold a pencil and paper while printing, and the correct sitting position.
Math----The students will continue to learn about the numbers "0", "1", and "2". The students are learning to count and print using the numbers "0", "1", and "2". The students are also learning about the "circle" and "square" shapes. The students learn the shapes by use of a scribble board, poems and worksheets. The terms "left" and "right" are also being studied. "Sorting---by shape and color" ---will be studied.
Every day the "calendar" is talked about---thus, the students are learning about months, days, weeks and numbers. The color "blue" will be read and studied.
Religion----In Chapter 3, the students will learn that "God Gives Us Water".
Science----The students will be learning about "Living and Non-Living" things.
Social Studies----The students will continue their study of "American Symbols"----the "Bald Eagle, the "Liberty Bell", and the "Statue of Liberty".
Crafts----To go along with Phonics and the sound that the letter "Oo" makes----the students will be making an "owl" visor, an "Owl" magnet, using "owl" stickers and stamps, an "octopus" stick puppet, and a paper owl.
