What's Happening the Week of April 28th Through May 2nd

Kindergarten

Phonics---The students will be learning about the sound that the letter "Xx"  makes----key word----fox.

Reading----The students will be reading word lists and phonics words.  The story "Sam in the Bag" will also be read.

Handwriting----The students will be printing the letters "Jj" and "Xx".

Math----The students will continue learning about "subtraction".

Religion----The students will learn that "Jesus Shares Himself With Us".

First Grade

Phonics----The students will be learning about the "ice" and "ide" word families.

Reading----The students will be reading the stories----"Tell Me a Story" and "Dr. Martha Smith on the Job".

English----The students will be learning that "holidays" begin with a capital letter,  The students will also be learning about "commas---in dates and places".

Math----The students will be learning about---'comparing lengths", "inches", "measuring tools", and "regrouping tens as ones----or borrowing in subtraction".

Religion----The students will be learning about the "Eucharist" and that "We Share God's Love".

Science----Everyone will be learning about----"The Earth's Neighbors", "Magnets", "Matter----Solids, Liquids and Gases".
