What's Happening the Week of March 24th Through March 28th

Kindergarten

Phonics----The students will continue their study of the sound that the letter "Ee" makes---keyword---elephant.  Then, the next letter of study will be the letter "Dd"---keyword---dog.

Reading----The students will be reading---"Ee" words, "Dd" words, word lists, and "word family words" and the phonics booklet----"Ben Is Ten".

Handwriting----The students will be printing the letters "Ee" and "Dd".  Phonics words will also be printed.

Math----The students will continue learning about addition.  The students will be learning how to use the number-line, as a tool to help them do addition problems.  Telling time to the hour and the calendar will also be studied.

Religion----The students will learn that "Jesus is Our Friend".

First Grade

Phonics----The students will be learning about the "Diphthongs----ou and ow" and the "Digraph----ea".

Reading----The students will be reading the stories----"The Fox and the Stork" and "A Bed Full of Cats".  The phonics booklet----"A Load of Stuff"---will also be read.

Spelling----A spelling word test on Unit 26 will be given on Tuesday, March 25th.  Unit 26 spelling words are:  mad, made, hop, hope, pin, pine, bit, bite, hid, hide, and  plan, plane.  Then, Unit 27 will be started.  Unit 27 spelling words are: play, rain, say, way, sail, day, mail, stay, may, pain, and today.
Unit 27 spelling word test will be on Monday, March 31st.

English----The students will continue learning about "Adjectives".  Then, the students will learn about "Opposites".

Writing----The students will be writing their own "English Sentences----using adjectives" .  The students will also be writing their own stories using the characters from their reading book stories of ----"The Fox and the Stork" and "A Bed Full of Cats".

Math----The students will be learning how to "Carry-----in addition problems".  The students will also be learning how to "Tell Time to the Half Hour" and about the "Calendar".

Religion----The students will be learning about "God's Forgiveness".

Science----Everyone will be learning about "Our Changing Land" and "Natural Resources".

Crafts----Easter projects will be done.
