What's Happening the Week of March 10th Through March 14th

Kindergarten

Phonics----The students will continue their study of the sound that the letter "Cc" makes---keyword---cat.  Then, the students wiil learn about the sound of the letter "Ee".  The students will learn that the letter "Ee" is a vowel.

Reading----The students will be reading word lists and the phonics booklet----"Zip".

Handwriting----The students will be printing the letters "Cc" and "Ee".

Math----The students will continue learning about "addition".

Religion----In Chapter 25, the students will learn that "We Should Care About Other As Jesus Did".

First Grade

Phonics----The students will be learning about the final syllable----"dle" and "gle".  The sounds of "Ow" and "oa" will also be studied.

Reading----The students will be reading the stories----"Friends Forever" and "The Fox and the Stork".  The phonics booklet----"A Jumping Pet"---will also be read.

Spelling----In Unit 25, the students will have a "Long Vowel Review". This week's spelling words are: same, line, stone, smile, note, side, wake, woke, wide, and wave.  This week's spelling word test will be on Friday, March 14th.

English----The students will continue their study of "Adjectives".

Writing----The students will be writing their spelling words sentences, stories--using the characters from their reading book stories, and "English Sentences"---using "Adjectives".

Math----The students will be learning to---"Count by 2's", "Even and Odd", ""Certain, Impossible, and Possible", and "More, Less or Equally Likely".  "Rocket Math" will continue to be done.

Religion----The students will learn that "We Are All Followers of Jesus", "We Celebrate God's Forgiveness", and "We Celebrate Mass".

Science----Everyone will  learn about our "Earth"----"Rocks and Soil", "Changing Land", "Natural Resources", and "Using Natural Resources".
