What's Happening the Week of December 2nd Through December 6th

Kindergarten

Phonics----The students will continue their study of the sound that the letter "Ii" makes----keyword----inch.

Reading----The students will be reading color words, phonics words that contain the letter "Ii", and phonics word lists.

Handwriting----The students will be printing the letter "Ii", their first name, and phonics words.

Math----The students will be learning about number patterns and the terms "Left, Between, and Right".

Religion----The students will learn about "Advent" and make an "Advent Wreath".

First Grade

Phonics----The students will be learning about the "Diagraph ng and the Suffix ing",  Then, the "Or" Combination will be learned.

Reading----The students will be reading the story, "Where Do Frogs Come From?" and the booklet "Frank From Moss Pond".  Then, the students will read the story, "Try Your Best".

English----The students will be learning about "Words That Mean the Same".

Spelling----In Unit 16, the students will be learning words that contain "Double Final Consonants".  This week's spelling words are: will, egg, grass, tell, miss, well, guess, look, little, and very.  This week's spelling word test will be on Friday, December 6th.

Handwriting----The students will be printing several pages in their "Handwriting Workbook".

Writing----The students will be writing their own spelling word sentences,  The students will also be writing their own story using the characters from the story----"Where Do Frog Come From?".

Math----The students will continue their study of "Fact Families".  "Rocket Math" worksheets will continue to be done.

Religion----The students will be learning about "Advent" and making an "Advent Wreath".

Social Studies----Everyone will be learning about "People With Great Ideas", "Sacajawea", "Goods and Services", and "Using Charts".
