Kindergarten
Phonics----The students will continue their study of words that contain the letter "Nn". Then, the next letter of study will be ---the sound of the letter "Mm"---keyword---monkey.
Reading----The students will be reading color words, and phonics words. Several word lists will be sent home to be read.
Handwriting----The students will be printing the letters "Nn" and "Mm". The students will continue to practice printing their first name and phonics words.
Math----The students will be learning about "color patterns", "shape patterns" and "size and growing patterns". The students will also be learning about the terms"before, between, and after". Numbers will continue to be printed.
Religion----In Chapter 9, the students will learn that "You Can Tell God Anything". Then, in Chapter 10, the students will learn that "God Helps Us to Discover His World" by giving us the gift of our five senses.
First Grade
Phonics----The students will be learning words that contain the letters "Cc", "Bb", "Digraph th", and "Digraph ng and Suffix ing".
Reading----The students will continue reading the story "Boots for Beth". Then, the students will read the story "Space Pup". A booklet called---"Do You See It?"----will also be read.
English----The students will be learning about "Special Nouns". Then, the students will learn that they should "Name Yourself Last".
Spelling----In Unit 14, the students will be learning words that contain "cl", "fl", or "sl". This week's spelling words are: flap, club, flag, slip, clap, sled, flower, said, her, and here. This week's spelling test will be on Friday, November 15th.
Writing----The students will be writing their own "Addition and Subtraction" stories. The students will also be writing their own spelling word sentences. The students will be writing their own story using the characters from the story "Space Pup".
Handwriting----The students will be printing pages in their "Handwriting Workbook".
Math----The students will be doing many workbook pages in their unit on "Subtraction". "Rocket Math" will continue to be done.
Religion----In Chapter 8, the students will learn that "Jesus Had Many Followers". Then, in Chapter 9, the students will learn that "Jesus Died and Rose to a New Life".
Social Studies----Everyone will be learning about "Native Americans" and the "Pilgrims". The students will be learning through the use of their "Social Studies Book" and the "Time For Kids" magazine. "Thanksgiving"---then and now---will be studied.
Science----Everyone will learn in the "Time For Kids" magazine about "Keeping Healthy". Everyone will be treated to a "Healthy Snack" of a mixture of ----yogurt, blueberries, and granola.
