Kindergarten
Phonics----The students will continue their study of the letter "Dd" words---keyword---dog. Then, the next letter of study will be the letter "Vv"---keyword---vest.
Reading----The students will be reading word lists and a -Phonics booklet. A Dr. Suess booklet will also be read. Many "Vv" words will be read. Some of the "Vv" words are: vest, van, vet, and vent.
Handwriting----The students will be printing the letters "Dd" and "Vv". The students will also be printing many pages in their handwriting workbook.
Math----The students will be learning what the terms "morning. noon, night, day, and night" mean, as pretaining to "time". Then, a unit on the "calendar" will be started. "Seasons" and "more time, and less time" will also be studied. Addition worksheets and printing numbers from 1-100, will continue to be done. Several of the Kindergarten students have asked to try the First Grade "Rocket Math" worksheets----so I have let these students do several "Rocket Math" worksheets----and they are doing a fantastic job!!!
Religion----In Chapter 23, the students will learn that "We Pray as Jesus Did".
First Grade
Phonics----The students will be learning about the "ph" sound---as in the word "phone". The students will also be learning the "oi" and "oy" sounds---as in "oil" and "boy".
Reading----The students will continue to read the story---"Tell Me a Story", and the booklet---"One More Time". Then, the students will read the story, " My Robot".
English---The students will be learning about the "exclamation point". Then, "titles for people" and "book titles" will be studied.
Spelling----The students will be taking a spelling word test over Unit 25 on Tuesday, March 5th. Unit 25 words are : same, line, stone, smile, note, side, wake, woke, wide, wave, beside, space, love, any, and many.Then, Unit 26 will be started. In Unit 26, the students will be learning "mixed vowel review words". Unit 26 words are: mad, made, hop, hope, pin, pine, bit, bite, hid, hide, plan, plane, girl, boy, and house. Unit 26th spelling word test will be on Monday, March 11th.
Writing----The students will be writing their own spelling word sentences. The students will also be writing their own stories, using the story characters from the stories----"Tell Me a Story" and "My Robot".
Handwriting----The students will be printing pages in their "Handwriting Workbook".
Math----The students continue their study on "time". Then, the students will learn about "ordinal numbers---to 31st and the "calendar". "Rocket Math" worksheets will continue to be done.
Religion----In Chapter 22, the students will learn that "Jesus Gives Us the Eucharist", and in Chapter 23 "We Celebrate the Mass"
Science----Everyone will continue their study of "Our Earth", "What is a Natural Resource", "Why is Water and Air Important", "How Can We Reuse Resources?", "How Can We Save Resources?', and "What is Weather?".
