Kindergarten
Phonics----The Kindergarten students will continue their study of the letter "Nn"---keyword--nest. Some "Nn" words will be: pan, nap, not, tan, and an. The students will be doing many "Nn" worksheets---circling "Nn" pictures, cutting and gluing "Nn" pictures, and reading color words and finding "Nn's" and coloring. The next letter of study will be the letter "Mm"---keyword--monkey. Some "Mm" words will be: mom, man, mat, map, mop, and ham.
Reading----The students will be reading word lists, "Nn" words, "Mm" words, and color words.
Math----The Kindergarten students will be learning about left and right, in front, behind, between, before and after. The numbers "9" and "10 " will be studied. The color "black" will be studied and the color word "black" will be read.
Handwriting----The students will be printing the letters "Nn" and "Mm", and their first name.
Religion----In Chapter 9, the students will learn that God loves us. God wants us to love Him.
First Grade
Phonics----The First Grade students will be studying words that contain the letters: "Hh", "Gg" "Rr", and "Mm". The "ug" word family will also be studied.
Reading----The students will continue the worksheets that go with the story, "Boots For Beth". Then, the students will begin the story, "Space Pup".
English-----The students this week will review special nouns---nouns that begin with a capital letter. Then, the students will learn about pronouns. A pronoun takes the place of a noun----he, she, it , they. Then, several lessons about words that mean the same.
Spelling-----In Unit 12, the students will be reviewing several past spelling words. The spelling words this week are: top, but, lamp, fun, got, went, us, let, man, yes, men, and pop. This week's spelling test will be on Friday, October 21st.
Handwriting----The students doing several printing lessons in their First Grade handwriting workbook. The students will be printing the letters ""f", "G", "i", and "J".
Writing----The First Grade students will be writing spelling word sentences . The students will also be writing their own story, using the characters from "Boots For Beth" story.
Social Studies----Everyone will be learning about the season of fall, fireman, and bats, from their magazine "Time For Kids".
Projects----Everyone will be making paper plate "monsters", paper plate "bats", and Halloween sticker scenes.
