Kindergarten
Phonics----The Kindergarten students will continue their study of the sound that the letter "Rr" makes----keyword----rabbit. Then, the students will learn the sound that the letter "Kk" makes----keyword----kite. The students will learn that the letters "Rr" and "Kk" are consonant letters.
Reading----The Kindergarten students will read words that contain the letters "Rr" or "Kk". Sight Words will continue to be read.
Handwriting----The Kindergarten students will print the letters "Rr" and "Kk". Phonics word sentences will also be printed.
Math----The Kindergarten students will learn about "Equal Parts", "Symmetry", "Halves" and "Fourths". The numbers "19 and 20" will also be studied. The students will do dot-to-dot number worksheets and addition worksheets.
Religion----The Kindergarten students will learn that "God Cares For Families" and that "We Learn About God With Our Friends".
Centers----The Kindergarten students will do "Number Bingo", "Play Dough Letters and Play Dough Words", "Picture and Word Flash Cards" and the "Scribble Board" for review.
First Grade
Phonics----The First Grade students will learn about the "wh" and "qu" sounds. The "ir, ur and er" sounds will also be studied.
Reading----The First Grade students will read the stories----"Tomas Rivera" and "On the Way to the Pond". The students will also read the booklet----"One Night".
English----The First Grade students will continue their study of "Verbs".
Spelling----The First Grade students will study words that contain "sh and ch". Then, a review unit of past spelling words will be started.
Writing----The First Grade students will continue to write their own stories.
Math----The First Grade students will learn about "Fractions". Addition Rocket Math will continue to be done. Subtraction Rocket Math will be started.
Religion----The First Grade students will continue to learn that "The Church Serves". Then, the students will learn that "We Belong to a Parish".
Centers----The First Grade students will do "Number Bingo", Play Dough Words", "Addition Wheel", "Word Wheels", "Word Flash Cards and Slide Word Cards" and the "Scribble Board" for review.
Science----The students will learn about the "Earth's Resources----Rocks and Water".
Social Studies----The students will learn about "Martin Luther King, Jr.".
Crafts----The crafts will center around Martin Luther King, Jr. and the winter season.
