What's Happening This Week----January 23rd Through January 27th

The Kindergarten "Frozen Day" will be on Tuesday, January 24th.  The Kindergarten students may wear a Frozen costume to school on "Frozen Day" . The Kindergarten students can wear a costume of one of the "Frozen Characters"----Elsa, Ann, Olaf, Seven, Kristhoff or if desired their P.J.'s.

Thank you to all the parents who have already sent in a "Frozen " item, to put in the Kindergarten Italian Feast Basket, for the Silent Auction.  If you have not sent in your "Frozen" item, please send it in soon.  Your help in this project is greatly appreciated.

Kindergarten Phonics----The Kindergarten students will continue their study of the sound that the letter "Kk" makes----keyword----kite.  Then the students will learn the sound that the letter "Bb" makes----keyword----balloon.  The students will learn that the letters "Kk" and "Bb" are consonant letters.

Kindergarten Reading----The Kindergarten students will be reading "Kk" words.  Some of the "Kk" words to be read will be:  kit, kin kiss, ask, silk, task, mask, milk, skill, skip and skin.  The students will also be reading "Bb" words.  Some of the "Bb" words to be read will be:  bib, bat, bag, big, ban and bass.  The students will also read the "Sight Words"----I, to, the, of and from.  Phonics word lists and the phonics booklet-----"Frog Ran"----will also be read.

Kindergarten Handwriting----The Kindergarten students will be printing the letters "Kk" and "Bb".  The students will also be printing phonics words and their first and last name.

Kindergarten Math----The Kindergarten students will learn about "Bar Graphs", "Equal Parts" and "Equal Symmetry".

Kindergarten Religion----In Chapter 22, the Kindergarten students will learn that "We Belong to the Church".

Kindergarten Science----The Kindergarten students will learn about "Measuring Tools"----tools that are used to measure temperature and the wind.  Then, the students will learn about the four "Seasons"----summer, fall, winter and spring.

Kindergarten Crafts----The crafts this week will center around the "Frozen Movie" theme and the 100th Day of School.
