What's Happening This Week-----October 3rd Through October 7th

Kindergarten Phonics----The Kindergarten students will continue their study of the sound that the letter "Hh" makes----keyword----hat.  Then, the students will begin their study of the sound that the letter "Tt" makes----keyword----tent.  The students will learn that the letters  "Hh" and "Tt" are consonants.

Kindergarten Reading----The Kindergarten students will be reading the phonics words----log, hog, hot, tot, lot and got.  The students will continue reading color words.  The color orange will be studied.

Kindergarten Handwriting----The Kindergarten students will be printing the letters "Hh" and "Tt".  The students will also be printing their first name and phonics words.

Kindergarten Math----The Kindergarten students will be learning about "Ordinals: First Through Fifth", "Triangle" and the terms----"As Many As, More and Fewer".  The students will also learn how to write the number "6"

Kindergarten Religion----In Chapter 7, the Kindergarten students will learn about "Ordinary Time" in the church year. In "Ordinary Time" the church celebrates God's love and the priest wears the color green.  The students will also learn about "Saints".  In the Kindergarten "Growing in Love" Religion Book, the students will learn about how God gave us our five senses to discover His world.  Also, the students will learn about God's promise never to flood the whole world again, by listening to the "Noah's Ark" story.

Kindergarten Social Studies----The Kindergarten students will learn about "Our World".  We live on the continent of North America.

Kindergarten Science----The Kindergarten students will learn about "What Animals Need to Live" and  that "Animals Grow and Change".

Up-Coming Dates and Events----The Kindergarten students will be celebrating the "Letter Pp" with "Princess, Prince and Pirate Day" on Friday, October 14th.
On Thursday, December 8th the Kindergarten/ Preschool Class will be going on a field trip to Candy Cane Lane, McDonald's and the Jefferson City Library.
