What's Happening This Week-----September 26th Through September 30th

On Monday, September 26th, the Kindergarten students will learn about Johnny Appleseed.  The Kindergarten students will dress-up in their "Johnny Appleseed" clothes.  The students will be making a Johnny Appleseed pot hat, a beaded necklace out of red yellow and green beads---the same colors as apples.  The students will also learn about "Apples"-----the life cycle of an apple and what an apple needs to grow----soil, water and sun.  The Kindergarten students will be tasting different kinds of apples, eating applesauce, and drinking apple juice.  A Johnny Appleseed story will be read. An  "Apple Math" worksheet will be done.  This will be a fun day as well as a learning day for the students.

Kindergarten Phonics----The Kindergarten students will continue learning the sound that the letter "Hh" makes----keyword----hat.  Then, the students will learn the sound of the letter "Tt"----keyword----tent.

Kindergarten Reading----The Kindergarten students will be reading the phonics words----"log" and "hog".  The students will also be reading the color word "purple" as well as the other color words. 

Kindergarten Handwriting----The Kindergarten students will be printing the letters "Hh" and "Tt".  The students will also be printing the phonics words---"log" and "hog'.  The students will also continue to practice their first name.

Kindergarten Math----The Kindergarten students will continue learning about "Patterns".  The students will also be learning about the number "5", the "triangle" shape, and the color "purple".

Kindergarten Religion-----In Chapter 6, the Kindergarten students will learn about "The Church Year".  The students will also learn that we are "Made to be Like Jesus" and we can do that by caring for others and helping others.

Kindergarten Social Studies----The Kindergarten students will learn about "Johnny Appleseed" and "Our World".

Kindergarten Science----The Kindergarten students will learn about  "What Animals Need to Live" and "How Animals Change and Grow".
