Kindergarten
Phonics----The students will continue their study of the sound the letter "Pp" makes----keyword---pig. Then, the students will begin their study of the sound that the letter "Aa" makes---keyword---apple. The students will learn that the letter "Aa" is a vowel.
Reading----The students will be reading the words----hat,gag, gap, lag, lap, tap, tag and pat.
The students will also be reading color words. The color words brown and black will be studied. The phonics booklet----"Hot, Hot, Hot" and phonics word lists----will be read.
Homework----This week the students will be reading the phonics booklet----"Hot, Hot, Hot" and phonics word lists.
Handwriting----The letters "Pp" and "Aa" will be printed.
Math----The students will be learning the terms: "Top, Middle , Bottom", "Inside, Outside" and "Left, Right". The numbers "8" and "8" will be studied.
Religion----In Chapter 9, the students will learn that "God Made Us".
Science----The students will be learning about "What Plants Need" and "Plant Parts".
Social Studies----The students will be learning about "Transportation" and "Now and Then".
Crafts----The crafts this week will have to do with "Halloween".
First Grade
Phonics----The students will be studying the sound that the letters "Ee", and "CK" make together. The "ing" Word Family words will be studied.
Reading----The students will be reading the booklets-----"Do You See It?" and "Frank From Moss Pond". The story---"Where Do Frog Come From?"---will be read. The students will be reading "ing" words and "Group 3" words. The "ent" Word Family will be studied.
Handwriting----The students will be printing the letters "Ee", "Cc", "Kk" and "Pp".
Writing----The students will be writing spelling word sentences. The students will also be writing their own story about a "Frog" and a "Cent".
Spelling----The students will be reviewing the spelling words from Units 7-11. The spelling words , that will be on Thursday, October 22nd are top, lamp, but, fun, got, went, us, let, man, yes, men and pop.
English----The students will be learning about "Special Nouns"---nouns that name people, animal and places and begin with a capital letter.
