What's Happening This Week-----April 24th Through April 26th

Kindergarten

Phonics----The Kindergarten students will learn about the sound that "ck" makes.  The keyword for "ck" makes is ----lock.

Reading----The Kindergarten students will be reading the story of " The Bat". The students will be reading "ck" words"

Handwriting----The Kindergarten students will printing sight word sentences.  The students will also review the alphabet letters.

Math----The Kindergarten students will be "Counting by Tens", "Odd and Even Numbers" and "Comparing by Size".  The students will also do "Addition " worksheets.

Religion----The Kindergarten students will learn that "Jesus Celebrates a New Life".

First Grade

Phonics----The First Grade students will learn about "Wild Colt" words----words in the word families "ind" and "ild". The students will also learn about the "Digraphs au and aw" and the "Digraph ue".

Reading----The First Grade students will read the stories----"Frog and Toad All Year" and the "Fishing Bears". The booklet "Frog and Mouse" will also be read.

English----The First Grade will learn about "Comma With Place Names" and "Words That Mean the Same".

Writing----The First Grade students will write their own stories about-----"Kate's Cake", "Make and Bake" and "Three Seeds".

Spelling----The First Grade students will learn spelling words that "Add ed" to the end of the root word. This week's spelling words are:  played, fished, rained, jumped, showed, slowed, wished, needed, stayed and mailed.  The Challenge Words are:  worked and parked.  The Special Writing Words are:  after, under and off.

Math----The First Grade students will continue doing "Story Problems".  The students will also do "Addition and Subtraction Rocket Math" worksheets.

Religion----The First Grade students will learn that we celebrate that "Jesus Rose to a New Life".

Science----The students will learn about "Energy----Sound, Light and Electricity"

Social Studies----The students will learn about "Maps".
