Kindergarten
Phonics----The Kindergarten students will continue learning the sound that the letter "Nn" makes----keyword----nest. The students will learn that the letter "Nn" is a consonant letter. Then, the students will learn the sound that the letter "Mm" makes----keyword----monkey. The students will learn that the letter "Mm" is a consonant letter.
Reading----The Kindergarten students will be reading words that have the letters "Ll", "Oo", "Gg", "Hh", "Tt", "Pp", "Aa", "Nn" and "Mm"---- all the letters that the students have been learning thus far this school year. The students will continue to read color words.
Handwriting----The Kindergarten students will be printing the letters "Nn" and "Mm". The students will also be printing phonics words and their first name.
Math----The Kindergarten students will be learning the terms----"As Many As", "More", "Fewer" and "Fewest and Most". The students will also be counting and printing numbers 1-10.
Religion----The Kindergarten students will be learning that "We Learn About God With Our Families" and "We Learn About God With Our Friends".
Science----The Kindergarten students will learn about "Plant Parts" and about how "Plants Grow and Change".
Social Studies----The Kindergarten students will learn about the "Pilgrims" and the "First Thanksgiving".
First Grade
Phonics----The First Grade students will be learning words that are from the "or" word family.
Reading----The First Grade students will be reading the story---"Where Do Frogs Come From?' and the booklet----"Frank From Moss Pond". Both these stories contain the "Words To Remember"----eat, from, gone, grows, or and two. Then, the students will be reading the story----"Try Your Best" and the booklet----"Just One More". Both these stories contain the "Words To Remember"----be, good, Mr., need, our, right, saw, time and try.
Writing----The First Grade students will be writing a story about the "Pilgrims".
Spelling----In Unit 15, the First Grade students will learn spelling words that contain the "st" sound. This week's spelling words are: nest, fast, stop, must, step and best. This week's challenge word is: stick.
English----The First Grade students will be learning about "Special Nouns"----nouns that name special people, animals or places. All these special nouns begin with a capital letter. Then, the students will learn about "Naming Yourself Last".
Math----The First Grade students will be reviewing "Tens and Ones". Then, the students will be learning about "Time"---to the "Hour" and the "Half Hour". "Rocket Math" will continue to be done.
Social Studies----The First Grade students will be learning about the "Pilgrims" and about the "First Thanksgiving".
